Are We Attractive to You? A Study on Metaverse Recruitment and Organisational Attractiveness

Résumé

The study explores the impact of the "metaverse" on organizational attractiveness in recruitment. It investigates how using metaverse technology influences candidates' perceptions and application decisions. Data from 108 respondents, collected through a questionnaire distributed online, were analysed using R, SPSS, and Excel. Results indicate that organizational attractiveness in metaverse recruitment is influenced by perceived ethics, fairness, and candidates' metaverse experience. Gender and socio-professional category also have an indirect effect on candidates’ views. Qualitative analysis highlights concern about discrimination and environmental, data protection, and health issues. However, the study acknowledges limitations in sample size and regression model quality. Future research could explore candidates' perceptions further and investigate recruiters' acceptance using theories like Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 1. Overall, the study underscores the importance of understanding metaverse technology's implications for HRM strategies and recruitment, while emphasizing the need for further research on long-term effects and ethical considerations.
